OKC Date Nights...
2020 has certainly been a whirlwind. Levi and I are incredibly passionate about safety measures related to Covid 19 (social distancing, mask wearing, no shoes in the house, bleaching Levi after work type of folks). Each of the below restaurants hosted us in a safe environment. Masks were worn by staff and guests were spaced out. We wore masks except while we were eating or I was asking Levi for a photo. Levi and I have been so blessed to have time with one another enjoying Oklahoma City's lovely restaurants.
Happy to support these outstanding establishments and appreciate their dedication to safety and to our community.
I hope this little blog inspires you to support one of our local eateries. I also hope you're able to spend time with your friends and family this season. Enjoy!
The Sparrow Italian for Dinner followed by
What we ordered at The Sparrow: ANTIPASTI & CHARCUTERIE, CACIO E PEPE and SPINACH, CRAB + GOAT CHEESE RAVIOLI paired with lovely wines as suggested by their awesome staff.
The CHARCUTERIE was amazing. We order these literally as often as we can at restaurants and theirs certainly stood out as a favorite. I couldn't even hear Levi over the cheese... it stole the show. My CACIO E PEPE was delicious too!
We strolled a few short feet down the charming block and around the corner to find, Paris.
We ordered the Chocolate Sphere: hazelnut, coffee and cognac. The Marcona Almond: Fait Maison signature mille-feuille with crispy puff pastry "Ariette", filled with Marcona almond cream and praline. Plus a couple of coffees and we were in Heaven.
We absolutely must return to the scene of this gorgeous dessert to try their full dinner. The atmosphere is so lovely. They served delicious homemade candies before our dessert.
Chef Olivier Bouzerand took time to visit with us. It was just such a fun and memorable experience. Bonus points for their gorgeous restroom too because this girl loves a good chocolate moment and a mirror selfie.
This stop is gorgeous. A boutique hotel hidden near an OKC neighborhood. Absolutely gorgeous in every way. I'm talking chills. Inspirational. Artsy Fartsy. I want to move in type of gorgeous. We stopped in late on a Saturday for Pumpkin Pie and Coffee. Now that it's in Oklahoma City, I can't remember our city without it. Cannot wait to take friends and family. Cannot wait to stay here. Cannot wait to see beautiful events held here. What a wonderful job done with this project, truly. Their wrap-around porch was a perfect socially-distanced host to our date night. Dreaming of visiting again soon...
In their words...
"A BOUTIQUE HOTEL THAT DELIGHTS IN THE EXTRAORDINARY
We believe in creating adventure, both near and far, exploring our world and bringing it close to home. Bradford House holds historical significance for our city, and we hope to honor the legacy while building a new and memorable experience for modern day."
A seat by a cozy fireplace and a charcuterie board...
This place isn't new, but it was new to us. We were absolutely delighted.
We ordered the Charcuterie Board (because we cannot resist),
a Cabernet and an Old Fashioned...
Lobster Mac: House-Made Cavatelli Pasta tossed with Four-Cheese Cream Sauce. Topped with Lemon Gremolata. Steak Frites: 16oz. Grilled Ribeye, Bearnaise Aioli, & Yukon Frites.
The Charcuterie and the Lobster Mac were our Award Winners.
An awesome date night in Nichols Hills followed by an embarrassing attempt to shop at Trader Joe's when they were clearly closed. Cheers to trying new things and our awesome restaurant scene in Oklahoma City.
