Black Friday 2019 Ya'll...

"Chandler, that’s not enough. I mean what if she gets you a great present, two medium presents, and a bunch of little presents? And you’ve just gotten her one great present? I mean that’s just gonna make her feel bad. Why would you do that to her Chandler? Why? Why?" -Rachel Green, Friends, The One with the Routine

Black Friday. Small Business Saturday. Cyber Monday.

These are the days. Days to show off our skills. To look alive. To knock out the Christmas shopping list in one weekend. To rock a budget, support local businesses and to have a fabulous time. Yes, I said it. Black Friday (plus Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday) is so fun! I know I know, we should stay home and hangout with family. But honestly, at this point, Black Friday has become a part of the family tradition-and gosh its so fun.

Growing up, I faithfully got up at 5AM with my Dad each Black Friday to brave crowds and find the perfect gifts for our loved ones. Gifting can be so special. I don't just mean a random sweater or the dreaded peach candle. I mean a bottle of perfume from a husband that reminds his wife she's beautiful each time she wears it (current favorite perfume). I mean the perfect shade of lipstick for a mom who never spends money on herself (a gorgeous lipstick splurge- Carmin Escarpin). I mean a beautifully illustrated book that inspires a child's imagination. Or even a pair of socks with Groot from "Guardians of the Galaxy" for a dude who thinks his job is boring...a funny mug can go a long way too people.

I don't mean to encourage materialism. I mean to cheer up the heart of someone who is determined to find a meaningful gift for each person on the list. You got this! Yes, in 2019, everything is techy and expensive... everything is out of budget and who knows if your person will even like it. Let me tell you, it's the heart of the giver that counts.

Okay, I'll stop with the mushy gushy. Whatever. Gift giving is my love language. I love it.

Instead of running the Turkey Trot at 6AM on Thanksgiving, let's run to Target at 5AM on Black Friday... at least this way, we'll have coffee and some cute booties to show for it.

4 Black Friday 2019 TIPS

*Many of our beloved brands have not released their official Black Friday sale info, not to fret, I am keeping a watchful eye out and will update my instagram highlight with deals I love. Here are a couple of good deals, just to get the juices flowing.

  • Look out for the underdogs. The department stores. They show up for Black Friday. Why would I go to a department store over Target or Walmart? Well, for example, Kohls offers $15 Kohls cash for every $50 dollars spent... And many other department stores offer free gifts with purchase.

  • Go with a partner. You need at least two in your crew. And one of you needs to go straight to the checkout line while the other secures the loot.

  • If you're not sure where to find your targeted item within the store-for goodness sake ask an associate. You don't have a moment to spare in wondering. Yes, many stores are getting more and more organized and giving out numbers in line for specific items. But if you're headed to Old Navy or Kohls-you're gonna need to look alive.

  • Be sweet to the retail staff and especially to your barista.

Black Friday 2019 Deals

*Many of our beloved brands have not released their official Black Friday sale info, not to fret, I am keeping a watchful eye out and will update my instagram highlight with deals I love. Here are a couple of good deals, just to get the juices flowing.

The chill items like: Towels, Frozen Barbie dolls ($4.99). Luggage (starting at $25). Then you have the good stuff like their Specialty Ninja Coffee Machine and Amazon Echo. The Echo will be $49.99. Other retailers have it listed at the same price for Black Friday, but Kohls offers their Kohls Cash at $15 per $50 spent.

Women's and Men's Ts for $4. Books buy 2 get 1 free. Family Jammies $10-$15. Beauty sets 30% off. Weighted blankets for $30. Maidenform bras 2 for $10. Pre-lit 6 ft Christmas trees for $30. Sherpa pullovers for $15. And the below deals!

Ulta and Sephora

We don't know what their deals are yet. Because of my tendency to over purchase in this department, I must make a plan. My rule in this category, you want items at 50% off (premium brands) or items under $15. Ulta and Sephora's own brands should be very very marked down to earn your purchase on Black Friday. Check my instagram stories for beauty deals on Black Friday.

Random bonus finds I'll be keeping a look out for

Christmas decor (wreaths/garland), a set of hot rollers and an oscillating fan (my recent favorite died in a Levi Garrison sleep walking incident, ha). May the odds be ever in your favor!
