About the 3.5 Hour Weather Delay...

We arrived about 5pm for the 6:30pm opening Pheobe Bridgers show. I got a hotdog, an instagram pic and a confidence boost to have arrived early enough to explore the vibe.

Approximately 3 minutes later, the sky lit up with lighting bright enough to stop a Swiftie in her sparkles and drop everything now. A voice came over the intercom announcing we needed to shelter in place... See the sad pic as evidence. I’m haunted. The powerpoint slide was surely made by a non-swiftie- no cat pic to be seen. No sparkly reference to the ever-beloved “rain show”. No reference that we’d all be “in a storm in our best dress, FEARLESS”...

The first two shows at Nissan Stadium in Nashville had amazing weather...Actually, the night before our show, while walking to dinner, we heard Taylor singing her opening song, “Cruel Summer”-we screamed the bridge along with 70,000 swifties... we were almost 2 miles away! (*Yes, I checked google maps)...

I captured this magical moment on IG here...

The first two Nashville shows were sunshine, we were midnight rain. It was about 4 hours worth of weather delays...we were happy, free, confused and lonely at the same time. It was really unclear if the show would be canceled all together...the rain & lighting were no joke and didn’t let up. We shopped merch, took photos with cardboard cutouts, traded friendship bracelets and sampled each of the delicacies offered by Nissan Stadium concessions.

At approximately 10:20p.m., word came through that Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour would begin shortly! Cue the cheers & tears...The hustle to get our sodas & sparkles in our seats STAT was absolutely overdramatic and true! Did the rain stop? Absolutely not. Did we see the opening acts? Unfortunately not. Did we lose our minds when the infamous cleaning cart toting Taylor rolled backstage? Absolutely! *key practical takeaway would be to bring a poncho if rain is on the forecast.

Taylor was authentic, professional, inspiring and just so much fun.

Seven Moments from The Eras Tour that Quite Literally Blew Our Minds:

1. The opening: it's dreamy. She floated. We might have floated? Things got lavender hazy . The pouring rain and four hour late curtain call didn’t stop “I love you ain't that the worst thing you ever heard?” from being screamed at the top of all of our lungs.

2. The FEARLESS Era: Songs like “You Belong with Me” and “Love Story” were the hall pass we needed to twirl and flip our hair around like we did before... And BTW the muscle memory of 70,000+ was Enchanting ...

3. All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylors Version): With iconic & powerful lines like so casually cruel in the name of being honest, A never needy-ever lovely, jewel whose shine reflects on you, I was never good at telling jokes, but the punchline goes: I’ll get older but your lovers stay my age, I remember them “All Too Well”...

4. The Reputation Era: The snake- I’m still spooked. The transition from “Don’t Blame Me” to “Look What You Made Me Do”... Let’s just say we know what costume I’ll be trying to recreate for Halloween...

5. The Folklore Era: “The 1”, “My Tears Ricochet” and “The Last Great American Dynasty”, took us on a rollercoaster of emotion in the best way. And yes, she did change one single note while singing “The 1” and we’re all still wondering what that meant...

6. Bad Blood: seemingly out of nowhere the pyrotechnics, production elements and crowd just collectively leveled up to literal fire–from our seats in the upper level, we were sure our eyebrows were singed off-but we loved it. A welcomed and toasty moment for a rain soaked crowd.

7. The Acoustic Set of Surprise Songs: “Mine” (at the piano), followed by “Would’ve Could’ve Should’ve” with special guest Aaron Dessner.... The unhinged screaming of the lyrics “give me back my girlhood, it was mine first” in the pouring rain still gives me chills... I’ll be getting over it my whole life. We’ve grown up with Taylor, and by the looks of things that isn’t going to stop anytime soon.

“I had the time of my life fighting Dragons with you...”

P.S.: we did try our hand at the ever-trending Wes Anderson aesthetic video while we were in Nashville for Taylor Swift’s “The Eras Tour”... check it out if you’re a Wes Anderson girly... Wes Anderson: Taylor’s Version
